Reservoirs, lagoons, and larger projects
For larger sites that need material, site, and crew coordination.
Explore large liner projects
We install liners and review measurements and site preparation before scheduling. Customers arrange the liner material. Excavation, grading, and electrical work are handled by other contractors.
Start with what you know:
- One pond: Tell us its size, condition, and whether the ground is prepared.
- Several liner areas: Show us which areas are ready and which contractors are still working.
- Mixed project: Include the ponds and larger containment areas in one inquiry. We’ll review the installation scope for each.
You don’t need to choose a service category before sending the details. The first conversation covers liner supply, site readiness, and the work other contractors must finish.
Talk with someone who knows the work
We bring more than 20 years of hands-on liner installation experience through Daniel’s work on ponds, canals, and larger water projects. JD is a new business.
What that means for your project
- Site review: Discuss measurements, ground preparation, and access before the crew travels.
- Workmanship: Seam checks are planned around the specified liner and installation method.
- Warranty: We offer a two-year installation warranty, with written terms provided for the project.
Those 20-plus years describe personal work before JD, including measurements, seams, and coordination with other contractors. Meet our founder and learn how we approach a new site.
Three steps from inquiry to installation
Know what the project needs before the crew arrives
A first conversation establishes what is known and what needs a closer look. A site visit may confirm measurements, preparation, and access. The call does not set a price or start date.
- 01 Describe the site: Send the city and state, project type, rough dimensions, and recent photos or plans. Exact measurements can follow a site visit when needed.
- 02 Check the handoffs: Share the liner specification if one exists, its expected delivery, and the ground contractor’s planned finish date. State what remains undecided.
- 03 Plan the work: We define our installation scope and review the need for a visit, travel, site conditions, and weather. Material supply and excavation remain with the responsible parties.
Still planning? Send the design requirements you have, even if the liner is not selected. If excavation is underway, include its expected completion date and who will confirm the finished surface. We’ll review installation needs with the project team. The designer, supplier, and ground contractor keep their own responsibilities.
Project work across the country
Nationwide project work
We take project inquiries from across the United States. Nationwide coverage depends on the site, season, crew travel, and an agreed schedule.
Discuss these three items before setting a date
- Mobilization: Distance and crew travel affect the mobilization fee and daily installation rate in the quote.
- Weather standby: Rain, snow, or strong wind can stop work after the crew has traveled. The quote explains any standby charges.
- Other deadlines: Tell JD when the liner is due, when ground work will finish, and when the site is needed for use. A target date is not a confirmed installation slot.
Before we travel, confirm
- The liner is available or has a firm delivery date.
- The prepared area and access route are ready for our crew.
- The other contractors have given you their completion dates.
- Any seasonal deadline is included in the schedule discussion.
Our quote sets out travel and standby terms. A material delay or unfinished surface can leave a mobilized crew waiting.
Prior-work example
Experience across different sites
A pond project from before JD
A customer had tried clay to address water loss. Daniel installed liners after that approach failed, and the customer ordered more for later work. This project came from his career before JD. Tell us what you have already tried; the right approach depends on your own pond and plan.
Range of experience: Earlier personal work includes pond and canal projects in Wisconsin, Alaska, and Hawaii, as well as a large reservoir in McAllen, Texas. These projects predate JD.
For a water-loss project: Tell us where the problem appears and what you have already tried. We can review whether liner installation fits the request and whether a visit is needed. The earlier customer’s result does not establish the right solution for your pond.
Before you approve a quote
Know what belongs in the installation quote
Before you approve a quote, check the boundaries of the job:
- Our work: Which areas and seams are included? Is a site visit needed for exact measurements?
- Your material: Who orders the liner, and when will it arrive? A ready site still cannot be lined without the specified material.
- Other crews: Who finishes the ground work and makes the site accessible?
- Travel and delays: How do mobilization, workdays, and weather standby appear in the price?
Size matters, along with access, preparation, weather, and the number of liners. A past installation involving ten liners took about a week. That example is context, not a schedule for a different site.
After you send the details:
- We check the site information and whether the installation fits our scope.
- We request any missing plans, liner specifications, photos, or measurements. A visit may be needed before a firm quote.
- We discuss the ground crew’s remaining work and schedule. The proposal identifies each party’s work, travel, and standby terms before our crew is booked.
Common questions
What should I know before I call?
Do you build the whole pond?
We install the liner. Excavation and electrical work are outside our scope. Tell us what other work is underway.
Can you visit before I order the liner?
Yes. A site visit can help with measurements and preparation guidance. Send the location and current project status to discuss the next step.
Does JD sell liner material?
No. Customers arrange the liner. We can discuss measurements in the context of the planned installation.
Can JD work in winter?
It depends on the site and conditions. Snow and very high winds can prevent installation. The schedule is reviewed for the location and season.
How are the seams checked?
We use air-line testing on applicable seams and vacuum testing on some jobs. The method and how the result is documented are specified for the project.
Is a liner the right answer for every leaking pond?
No single example can settle that question. The cause of water loss, condition of the pond, and planned lining system all matter. Share the site’s history so we can discuss installation fit and the need for an on-site review.
What happens if weather stops the work?
Standby charges may apply after the crew mobilizes. The quote sets out those terms, and scheduling considers the season and conditions at the site.

Pond Service
Pond Liner Installation
The right installation starts before the liner is placed. A geomembrane is a manufactured liner sheet used to help contain water. We review pond measurements, site preparation, and the work needed to install the liner.

Installation for ponds and farm ponds
A pond liner can help reduce seepage through the ground when the system suits the site. We install the liner and can visit to measure the pond and discuss preparation.
This service may fit when
- A new pond or farm pond is being prepared for a geomembrane liner.
- An existing pond needs a liner installation plan after its condition is reviewed.
- The liner specification and prepared surface can be coordinated with the owner, supplier, designer, and ground crew.
We can discuss installation fit before mobilizing. Material, the surface beneath it, and the installed seams all matter to the project.
The first review depends on the pond
New pond: Share the planned shape, ground-work schedule, liner plan, and crew access.
Existing pond: Describe the current surface or liner, the problem area, earlier repairs, and who will remove old material if needed.
We use those details to plan the visit and installation discussion.
Scope and handoffs
Installation scope and handoffs
We handle
Installation, site measurement and preparation discussion, and project-appropriate seam checks.
You arrange
Liner material and a separate contractor for excavation, grading, or electrical work. If you only need to buy material or a small preformed liner, this service may not fit.
Material handoff: Send the liner name and specification if a supplier or designer has selected one. If it is still undecided, tell us what the project plan requires. We can identify the measurements and specification needed for an installation quote. We do not sell the liner. A supplier's material warranty is separate from our installation warranty.
Get the site ready
Prepare the pond before the crew arrives
Send the pond's location and rough dimensions. Photos, drawings, or a farm pond liner plan help us identify what needs a closer look.
Site readiness checklist for the first discussion
- Ground: Has excavation or grading finished? Ask the ground crew how rocks, sharp debris, and uneven areas will be handled.
- Edges: Note steep walls, corners, or unusual boundaries. We may need to see these before discussing an installation detail.
- Access: Explain how a crew reaches the pond and where the liner can be delivered.
- Material: State whether the liner is specified, ordered, or already on site. Share the planned delivery date.
- Timing: Give the ground contractor's finish date and any planned use of the pond.
We may need a visit to measure the site and decide what preparation guidance to give. The ground contractor still handles the dirt work.
Before we book the crew, confirm
- Who finishes and approves the prepared pond surface.
- Who receives and stores the liner.
- Who can make a site decision if the work area differs from the plan.
- Whether an edge, slope, or access point needs an on-site review.
Send written specifications early. A pond may look ready in photos while a key detail still needs measuring before travel dates are set.
Steep walls and unusual edges can require a different installation detail. Batten strips are one possible approach on some sites. The edge treatment is determined from the pond shape, specified liner, intended use, and an on-site review when needed.
We coordinate the installation date with the ground contractor's finish date, site access, and liner delivery. Each handoff needs a named owner before our crew travels.
A prepared pond surface is checked for grade, edges, and access before the liner crew arrives.
How the work moves forward
- Share the project details: Give the pond location, size if known, photos, and the status of any liner order.
- Review the site: A visit may be needed for measurements and preparation guidance.
- Arrange the liner and schedule: The customer obtains the liner. Scheduling depends on its arrival, crew travel, and site readiness.
- Install and check the work: We install the liner and check applicable seams. The project quote identifies the installation and test approach.
Workmanship and handoff: We use air-line seam testing where applicable and vacuum testing on some jobs. The liner and seam detail determine the method. The quote identifies planned checks and what we provide at completion.
If another contractor will work near the finished liner, the team needs a plan to protect it after our crew leaves. Later work by other crews is separate from our installation scope.
What affects the quote?
There is no flat price or standard duration for every pond. Compare the scope and terms in a site-specific proposal.
Quote factors
- Site and work: Pond size, access, preparation, seams, and expected crew days.
- Travel: The site location, mobilization fee, and any visit before installation.
- Delays: Liner delivery, rain, strong winds, snow, or unfinished ground work. The quote explains standby charges after crew arrival.
- Schedule: Your target date, such as an agricultural season, and the other crews' milestones.
We price installation using a daily rate, with mobilization and applicable weather standby charges identified in the project quote. Even two ponds of similar size can require different travel and workdays. Don't schedule other work around an unconfirmed start date.
Compare the whole scope: Two daily rates may cover different work. Check site-visit assumptions, the prepared surface, liner delivery, seam checks, and weather standby terms. Also confirm which crew finishes any remaining grading. Those details show what each proposal actually includes.
Warranty and workmanship
Check the work and warranty
We offer a two-year installation warranty. The written terms explain the covered installation work, how to report a concern, and any exclusions. The quote also identifies planned seam checks and the preparation required before installation.
Two separate warranties: Our two-year warranty addresses installation workmanship under its written terms. The liner supplier controls any material warranty. If a concern arises later, those terms help identify the right next step; a leak can have more than one cause.
An earlier pond project
After clay failed to stop water loss, a customer hired Daniel to install liners and later ordered more. That was his personal work before JD. We still review each pond's conditions and earlier repairs on their own merits.
Questions to ask before you book
Can JD supply the liner?
We focus on installation. Customers arrange the liner material.
Will you excavate the pond?
No. Dirt work is outside our scope.
Can JD tell me whether the pond is ready?
We can discuss the project and may visit to measure and review site preparation.
What if my pond still needs dirt work?
Arrange that work separately. Give us its expected completion date so we can discuss what we need to see before installation.
How long will installation take?
Timing depends on pond dimensions, site readiness, crew travel, and conditions during the work. A past ten-liner job took about a week, but your project needs its own schedule.
What if weather stops the crew?
Weather standby can be billed after mobilization. The project quote explains how those days are handled.
Can I send photos instead of booking a visit?
Photos and plans can start the conversation. We may still need to see the site for measurements or to assess preparation.
Which liner material should I buy?
Material choice depends on the project. If a designer or supplier has specified one, include it with your inquiry. We can discuss whether we can install that material. We do not sell the liner.
How will the seams be checked?
Air-line testing is used where it fits the seam and liner; vacuum testing is used on some jobs. The quote identifies the planned method and completion record.
Larger water projects
Working on a larger water project?
If the site is a reservoir, lagoon, or multi-area containment project, read about large liner projects. For a pond, send its location, rough dimensions, recent photos, and liner status. We can tell you what information is needed for a quote.

Large Liner Projects
Liner Installation for Reservoirs, Lagoons, and Large Projects
Large liner projects depend on the site, measurements, material delivery, and a workable installation schedule. We review those details with owners and project teams across the United States. The work uses a manufactured liner sheet, called a geomembrane, when it suits the site and project plan.
Request a Project Quote · Phone: 602 754 4560
Tell us what you are lining
We install geomembrane liners for reservoirs, lagoons, and other large containment projects. Daniel's earlier career also includes canal lining. We start with the site's purpose, construction status, and liner plan.
Describe the project type
- Reservoir: Intended use, site dimensions, and status of excavation or other ground work.
- Lagoon: Type of site, available plans, and any liner specifications.
Name the owner, ground crew, liner supplier, and any designer early. Each party's milestone affects when installation can begin.
The project type is only the starting point. A reservoir may have one main basin or several areas that become ready at different times. A lagoon may have a written specification that determines the liner and seam approach. Send what is available instead of waiting for every drawing to be final, and identify decisions still with the designer or owner.
Know which crew owns each part
- We handle: Liner installation, site measurements or visits when needed, and agreed seam checks.
- You and your supplier handle: Liner specification, ordering, delivery, and site access.
- Other contractors handle: Dirt work and electrical work, which are outside our scope.
Share the full project schedule even when we are hired for one part. A late material delivery or unfinished ground can affect our crew's start date.
Who can make a field decision?
Large jobs may involve an owner, designer, ground crew, and supplier. Name the person who can answer liner-plan questions and authorize a site decision. That person should be reachable if the prepared surface or edge needs attention during installation.
Start with the site and liner plan
We start with plans or photos, then determine whether a site visit is needed for measurements, access, or preparation questions. A visit can reveal an edge or surface condition that is hard to judge from a drawing.
Send these details for the first review
- Approximate dimensions and a site drawing or recent photos.
- The liner specification or panel plan, if one exists.
- Ground-work status and the person who will approve the prepared surface.
- Crew access, material delivery date, and where the liner will be stored.
- The target start date and any areas that will be ready in stages.
It is fine to mark an item as undecided. The project designer or other responsible party handles changes to specifications and groundwork. We review how those decisions affect installation.
Details that can change the plan
- Steep or unusual edges: The liner and project specification determine the treatment. Batten strips are one possible detail on some sites. We review the actual condition before setting the method.
- Several work areas: Show which section becomes ready first and whether the material for that section will be on site. A labeled drawing helps us plan the order of work.
- Other trades nearby: Identify where crews may overlap and who protects a completed liner area while the next section is installed.
- Field decisions: Name the person who can answer questions about the liner plan if the prepared site differs from the drawings.
From first call to installation
- Review plans and site: We discuss dimensions, access, the specified liner, and whether a visit is needed.
- Confirm handoffs: The ground crew finishes the surface, the supplier delivers the liner, and the owner provides access and a field contact.
- Schedule and install: We plan crew travel against actual readiness, install the agreed areas, and check applicable seams. Air-line testing is used where it fits the job; vacuum testing is used on some projects.
- Close the work area: We provide the agreed information about seam checks and hand the installed area back to the project team for protection during later work.
A past project involving ten liners took about a week. That example does not set the duration for another site. Dimensions, staging, travel, preparation, and weather determine the actual schedule.
What affects cost and timing?
A large-project quote sets out the travel or mobilization fee, daily installation rate, and any weather standby terms after crew arrival. Workdays depend on the site, material, access, and staging.
Compare bids using the same questions
- Is a site visit included, and who provides the liner?
- Which installation areas and seam checks are included?
- Who completes ground work before JD mobilizes?
- How are weather delays billed after the crew travels?
- What do the written installation warranty terms cover?
Rain, strong wind, snow, liner arrival, and unfinished preparation can affect the start or progress of work. Share your deadline and seasonal limits. Ask which dates can be confirmed now and which depend on the site or forecast. A distant job may have a different travel cost from one closer to the crew.
If the work is staged, ask for an area-by-area plan
- Which basin or section will be handed over first, and what marks it ready for us?
- Will its specified liner be delivered before that section is available?
- Can our crew reach that section while the ground contractor works elsewhere?
- Who protects the completed liner when another trade returns to the site?
Those answers help us discuss whether the crew can work continuously or must wait between areas. A staged plan also makes it easier to compare a quote with the actual sequence on site. If one section is still changing, identify that uncertainty before setting crew travel. We can review the available plans and explain what remains to be confirmed before a reliable schedule is proposed.
Experience that fits the job
Daniel's earlier reservoir work in McAllen, Texas
Daniel worked on a large reservoir in McAllen, Texas, before opening JD. His earlier work also includes pond and canal liners. For your reservoir, we review the site, specified liner, access, and handoffs before setting an installation plan. The McAllen project is his personal prior experience.
Installation workmanship: We offer a two-year installation warranty. The written terms identify covered installation work, the process for reporting a concern, and any exclusions. A supplier's material warranty is separate.
What changes the crew plan? Count the liner areas, check access, and map when other trades will finish. Travel and weather also matter. We build the plan from your drawings and conditions, drawing on Daniel's earlier large-project experience.
Questions that help set the scope
Can JD supply the liner?
No. The customer arranges the liner. Share its material and delivery date if known.
Does JD prepare the ground?
No. Another crew handles dirt work. We review the condition needed before our liner crew arrives.
How long will a large job take?
Duration depends on the number of liners, site size, access, preparation, and weather. One past ten-liner job took about a week. Your site needs its own schedule.
What if weather stops the crew?
Rain, snow, and very high winds can stop installation. The quote explains any standby charges after the crew travels.
How is the work checked?
We use air-line seam testing where applicable and vacuum testing on some jobs. The quote identifies the check that fits the chosen liner and the completion information provided.
Discuss the site before you set the schedule
Send the project type, location, approximate dimensions, site status, and liner delivery status. We can discuss whether a visit is needed and what information will support a quote.
If plans are still being developed, send what you have and identify what is undecided. We can discuss which questions need an answer before installation is planned. If you have a deadline, include it with the inquiry, but leave room for site conditions and liner delivery to shape the schedule.

Experience on sites of many sizes
Daniel has worked with pond and canal liners for more than 20 years. His past work includes small ponds and large water projects across the country. He started JD recently; those years describe his own experience, not the age of the company.
We look at measurements and how the site has been prepared. We can discuss what needs to happen before a liner is installed.
20+: Years of Daniel's personal pond and canal liner experience.
A clear plan for each project
Each site has its own shape, access, weather, and schedule. We talk through the work before our crew travels. You arrange the liner and any ground work. We handle the liner installation.
For your first discussion: Share the project location, what is being lined, and whether plans, ground work, and material are ready. We can then discuss the next useful step.
Experience, credentials, and accountability
Daniel holds a state-issued geomembrane welding credential, and JD is insured. Credential and insurance details are available during the project discussion.
We identify the seam checks planned for each installation and provide the written terms of our two-year installation warranty with the project quote.
